Comfrey ( symphytum officinale )

Comfrey is known today, and historically, as "knitbone" because of it's therapeutic properties aiding the healing of broken bones, sprains, bruises and swellings.  Comfrey contains allantoin which depresses inflammation.  Comfrey is also very effective for other skin conditions too and is used on skin rashes, lacerations and insect bites (put it in the holiday bag !).  Blended with lavender, it is very effective for minor burns.  Comfrey accelerates tissue growth and repairs cells.

Use like any other carrier oil and massage into the skin.  Comfrey oil can also be used in the bath for skin afflictions. Evidence states that comfrey oil can stop itching too.

A very therapeutic product indeed with virtually no side effects (remember to patch test first of all and store correctly).
