Cinnamon ( Cinnamomum zeylandicum )
Extraction is by water or steam distillation of the leaves.

Odour - warm, spicy, somewhat harsh smell.

History - the bark is a familiar spice. 

Uses - for poor circulation, rheumatism; eases muscle spasm so useful for dyspepsia, colitis, flatulence, diarrhoea,nausea and vomiting.  Vapourise with lavender and frankincense to ward off winter infections.

Blends with - benzoin, eucalyptus, frankincense, ginger, grapefruit, lavender, orange, rosemary and tea tree.

Safety - the leaf oil is relatively  non-toxic,possibly irritant. The bark oil is
a dermal toxin, irritant and sensitiser.
