Eucalyptus (citriodora) ( Eucalyptus citriodora )
Extraction is by steam distillation of the leaves and twigs.

Odour - strong, fresh, citronella-like odour and sweet balsamic undertone.

History - Traditionally used for perfuming linen cupboards. During last century regarded as an insect repellent especially for cockroaches and siverfish.

Uses - athlete's foot and other fungal infections, dandruff, insect repellent. Asthma, laryngitis, sore throat. Colds, fevers, infectious skin conditions such as chickenpox. Steam inhalation, with other oils such as frankincense, tea tree, lemon, for colds it eases nasal congestion and inhibits the cold virus.

Blends with - frankincense, ginger, lavender, lemon, marjoram, myrtle, niaouli, pine, rosemary, and tea tree. 

Safety - non-toxic, non-irritant, possible sensitisation in some. Toxic if taken internally.
